Oils - portraits.
Commissions undertaken.
Throughout my ceramics years, figurework had always been
of central importance.
I was, then, well used to creating figures and faces, and trying to capture
the expressions
and the very sensations of the clay people I created.
Doing something similar in oils after I'd given up ceramics was a challenging
process,
but one that I have enjoyed immensely.

I wanted an enigmatic look on the face of the model. She had rounded shapes to her body which fitted in well with the curves of the instruments.
